DollyWink Long Mascara

Nobody knows how much I had been wanting this mascara until I got it a few weeks ago in my last swap! I was very excited to receive a DollyWink Long mascara, I've only heard good things about it and the brand in general.

It comes with a little flyer that shows you the best way to apply it, and I wish I could speak japanese so I could understand what it says!

I really like this mascara, its probably one of the best I've ever tried. The handle is comfy and the applicator is nice; it doesnt flake, it really lengthens your lashes while not being obvious (and I hate it when make-up is too obvious!).

  2. I'm asian and I love the way my eyes look, sorry if you don't. I suppose you're only 17 so I can't expect much..

  3. hmmm, is that why the mascara industry is booming in europe and the americas, and why plenty of cauasian ladies are willing to dish out $30 on luxury mascara products>

  4. "If you think about it, there's a reason why Asian eye product are so good - it's because Asian women don't like the shape of their eyes, so make-up brands do the best to ... make it up ;)"

I don't think that could have been anymore distasteful.

  5. WOW. you are one ignorant, shallow lady.
Is mascara only made for Caucasian eyes? NO. Don't think so highly of yourself. Don't think everyone hates their eyes and they have to "make it up" because they don't.
That is incredibly rude and racist of you.

  6. Do you hate the way your eyes look? because daaang girl, look at all the makeup you have. Or do you wear it for other reasons? What a shocking concept.

Even if you were a small-town closed-minded girl with a makeup obsession, one would think you would know better. Of course, comments like these might make you all the more xenophobic..

  7. @Katie oh God, I never meant to be xenophobic, EVER! I've never meant to say that every single Asian woman doesn't like the shape of her eyes, nor I think it. But I've seen so many "how to make your eyes look huge" made by Asian girls on the internet that I assumed there are SOME girls that would like their eyes to look different. Those who know me in real life know that I'm the less racist person in the world. I am very interested in Asian culture, I like it and I respect it. I am sorry if you thought the contrary and I'm sorry if my sentence hurt you in any way.
And by the way, I love the shape of my eyes.

  8. If you think about it, there's a reason why tanning products and services are so easily available in Western countries - it's because white women don't like the shade of their skin, so they do they best to... make themselves look like an oompa loompa ;)

Does that sound like generalisation to you? Because thats what you just did.

  9. wow you're such a racist bitch

  10. I would ignore the "omg you're so racist posts". You had the sense to take down the offensive comment. Whether you were sincere or not, it shows maturity to admit you're wrong and take the appropriate course to fix it.

And for the love of beauty, aren't we all enhancing our looks with makeup? Eyelashes or lashless?

  11. @M.wang Thanks for the comprehension. I wasn't trying to say it's bad for people to change the way your eyes (or cheeks, or lips, or face) look. That's what make-up is all about after all. I'll pay more attention to what I write in the future though!

  12. I wouldn't say your racist since that's absurd, it's a very deep word and simply taking about makeup and eye-shape does not bring out the depth of the word itself.

Now of course you've shown a little bit of maturity by taking the comment down and for that I thank you because the fact you were reviewing an Asian product with that type of sentence is actually, initially quite insulting.

Now I'm not going to give you the moral lessons that everyone gave you in a more of less rude manner. But hear this, next time you do a review keep in mind that on the internet there is a moral ground which is common decency. A very important internet ethic that you shouldn't forget especially when focalizing on a domain such as makeup because just about every woman, from every corner in the world might read it.

I'm not a pretty girl, I have terrible acne harmed skin and yet, yes, I do love my eyes since it's the only pair I have. And as a ripost to your previous comment above about tutorials on how to make eyes bigger, you shouldn't generalize that way even if you did claim you weren't. Because you actually did without noticing it. These type of things shouldn't even be mentionned, but that's up to you to watch out for since this is you blog and from what I understood it's a very famous one. So if you want your blog to not fall apart, maybe a little consideration would have been really nice.

No harm done on my side, I'm not going to call you a bitch like some immature commenters above.

    Talk to you sometime soon.

  13. Okay, I'm not going to get all angry and crazy, that would be stupid, but your comment was really hurtful.

A lot of Asian women love their eyes and enjoy enhancing them with products - same way you enhance your features.

Just letting you know there's a whole thread discussing you, with a lot of angry Asian girls posting on it. So be careful in future.

  14. @Anonymous Again, I am so sorry to have hurt people, because I really didn't mean it. English is not my first language so lots of times I don't know how to properly explain myself. I will surely be more careful in what I write in my future posts.
I know that there is a thread on a forum about this because I've seen it on the blog statistics, I visited it some days ago but I didn't comment because it would have been useless - it would have been me against lots of angry people. Again, I have realized that what I wrote is offensive for some people and I'm sorry for that. Now I'd just like to put this whole thing aside.
