Today I want... #9

...Etude House Know Your Body scrub. I know the name sounds a bit creepy, but I think this scrub looks so cute! From the swatch, the consistency looks really interesting, too. I'll probably never try it because there are so many others I can try that are more accessible to me, but still!

Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoo in Pink Gold

maybelline

maybelline

The Maybelline 24hr Color Tattoos were -and still are- very hyped up between bloggers and youtubers,  so when the new Maybelline Fall collection was released I couldn't help but buy one of those. The Maybelline Color Tattoos are cream eyeshadows which come in tons of different colours (if you're lucky enough to live in the US or UK). In Italy they're priced at about €7,00, which is fairly inexpensive for a good quality eyeshadow. The packaging looks a lot like MAC Paint Pot's, it's made of glass and feels sturdy. The newest Maybelline collection included Metallic Pomegranate and Pink Gold, which is the one I chose. It's a light pink with lots of golden sparkles, a very natural colour which is perfect to brighten up the eye area. It's great when used as a base for powder eyeshadow, or simply worn alone. It definitely doesn't last 24 hours (who would wear eyeshadow for 24 hours straight?), but it does last a lot.

I'm going to Rome for the weekend and I'm planning to bring it with me! I hope to do some shopping there. Have you tried the Maybelline Color Tattoos? What do you think about them?

The Beauty Blogger tag

Hello everybody! I was scrolling my Blogger feed earlier and I stumbled upon this post on Beauty and Baggage. I thought the questions were fun so here are my answers! I hope you enjoy!

petit faon

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
Well, I'm a blogger since 2005! I actually had a fashion blog before Le Petit Faon which I opened in 2010, but my inspiration to keep it sort of faded during 2012. I opened this blog in May 2011.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
That's a very hard question! I was following lots of nail blogs last year, but I think the blog I admired the most (and still admire) is LLYMLRS and her beauty blog ETCLLYMLRS.

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product your bought and was it worth the hype?
It might have been the Revlon Lip Butters (very late, I know) who definitely were worth it, or maybe Chanel Le Vernis nail polish in 505 Particulière.. which definitely wasn't.

What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
I love discovering new products, testing them out and sharing my opinion with others; I love taking care of my blog and making little improvements day by day; I love the fact that blogging made me able to meet beautiful people, both inside and out.

What have you learned from being a beauty blogger?
I learned that I have to be very careful with everything I say! :)

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
Of course! Last year I knew 10% about make-up and skincare compared to what I know now. And I'm still learning! I have, of course, a bigger make-up collection and a different make-up routine.

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
It's all about the content of your blog. If you make good, in-depth reviews, and if the overall appearance of your blog is nice, followers will come. Never give up - blogging is fun :)

Name your top five beauty brands.
I really don't have a favourite brand because I like trying products from different brands, but if I had to choose they would be Maybelline, Majolica Majorca, Kiko, Urban Decay, Deborah.

Your favorite eyeshadow palette?
My Urban Decay Rollergirl palette or my Inglot customised one. I'm still waiting the Naked 2! ;)

The best beauty deal?
I often get discontinued Dior and Chanel lip or nail products from little beauty shops in my town for very low prices.

Makeup Regrets?
I was quite disappointed with the Estée Lauder Daywear moisturizer and a Lioele Real Vivid Matte lipstick which completely didn't go well with my complexion.

Recommend your top five beauty products.
1) Chanel Vitamlumière Aqua foundation - it gives the skin a wonderful glow, makes the pores appear smaller and imperfection less evident.
2) Tarte Lip Surgence lipsticks - they're practical, pigmented and they come in lots of shades. Too bad I can only get them online!
3) L'Oréal Rouge Caresse in Rebel Red - so moisturizing! And for once, a nice drugstore lipstick that's not glittered :)
4) Bottega Verde Matita occhi intensa in Perla Oro - super inexpensive but so good. Perfect for highlighting the inner corner of the eye.
5) MAC Studio Finish concealer - despite this being in a pot (and that's super unsanitary), it's the only concealer I've tried that manages to cover my blemishes almost perfectly. It's a bit too heavy for the under-eye area, but for spots it's great.

Avon Extralasting eyeshadow stick

Photobucket

After becoming an Avon rep in September, I decided to start testing out a few of their products. If I was going to sell them, I'd better try them first! I got an Extra Lasting eyeshadow stick in Moonstone for €7,00 (but as you may already know, it changes from campaign to campaign). The product comes in a stick that you twist up just like a lipstick, and I really like it this way! It's very practical if you usually take your make-up with you in your bag, because it takes as much space as a pen.
The eyeshadow itself is a mid-toned brown with almost invisible shimmer. As you can see from the swatch, since it's not super pigmented and a bit stiff as well, I'd recommend to use it as a base, or just by itself if you're going for a natural look. It will cover up the blue veins on the eyelid and give a bit of definition to the eye that way. Since it's almost unnoticeable on the lids, it's hard to tell if it lives up to its name in being extralasting! As I said however, it's a nice base for a quick neutral eye look.

EOS Star Series - Star Pink

I got a pair of lenses from MukuCHU a few days ago and I thought I'd share my thoughts about them with you. The lenses came carefully packed and they included a lens case as well. They looked like the average lenses until I realized they were pink! I'd never owned a pair of pink lenses before these ones, so I was excited and a bit scared at the same time. I was concerned the colour wouldn't suit me until I tried them on and I actually liked what I saw! They are not too flashy and they don't make you look like you're some anime character, mostly because the shade is not solid but it's sheered out. Also, the design is quite natural. The only thing that makes these lenses look unnatural is the size (14.8mm), which made the application a bit tricky. Once on, they were ok - not the most comfortable lenses I've ever tried but they weren't a disaster either. I recommend them if you're going for a full anime look, but also if you're looking for something new and a funny effect :)
