Two weeks ago I finally got myself an iPhone 4s! It was a birthday present from my parents and I'm absolutely loving it. Of course I've been instagramming more than before, it's much easier now that I can do it from my phone! I'll try and make My life in photos posts more frequently now :)

From left to right: my new phone, my first iPhone selfie, lovely flowers, walking in the park, Euripide's Medea, birthday cake, my grandma's dog, birthday dinner w/ friends, another selfie

Ageless Derma Eye Cream

 photo age_eye_zps8542c2e0.png
Putting years of experience and knowledge in the field of scientific research at your service, Ageless Derma now offers an anti-aging eye cream that will put an end to your problems for good. With the help of two natural ingredients, Retinol and Vitamin K, Ageless Derma Eye Cream makes puffy eyes, dark circles and Crow’s feet disappear quickly.

The area around our eyes is one of the most delicate of our whole body, because it’s extremely thin and sensitive. With aging, the skin in the area around the eyes gets even thinner, so blood vessels show beneath the skin and make the dreaded under-eye dark circle appear, giving an always tired and stressed look to the face. That’s when the Ageless Derma Eye Cream comes to rescue. Vitamin K, which is one of the main ingredients of Ageless Derma’s Eye Cream, has been proved to have a capital importance in erasing dark circles: it reduces the clotting of blood, so that the area under the eyes looks significantly brighter and younger.

The other main natural ingredient found in Ageless Derma Eye Cream is Retinol, the purest form of Vitamin A. Recent scientific studies results have shown that Retinol is crucial for reducing and preventing wrinkles. It makes the skin more plump, elastic and young through the increase of enzyme activity and cell renewal activity, truly making the skin not just appear, but also feel younger. According to different magazines such as the British Journal of Dermatology, Retinol-based skin treatments work as efficiently as prescription-strength retinoids are in erasing wrinkles, but they’re much less expensive.

The Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology has recently published a research study done by the Nippon Medical School in Tokyo, Japan, which showed that a cream containing 2% of Vitamin K and 0.1% of Retinol and Vitamins E and C significantly reduced wrinkles, puffy eyes and dark circles. Moreover, 80% of the subjects showed greatly diminished dark circles and wrinkles after applying the cream twice a day for just 8 weeks.
Vitamin E and C are also contained in Ageless Derma Eye Cream. Those two natural ingredients are proved to offer an antioxidant effect and quick skin growth, fighting against dark circles and wrinkles at the same time.

Give your skin the chance to feel young and fresh again and try Ageless Derma’s Eye Cream, a safe natural remedy that will banish dark circles and puffy eyes forever.

Orelia Jewelry

Oftentimes it's hard for me to find nice jewelry, since I don't really like studs or statement pieces, which have been so trendy for the past two years or so. Moreover, even though I'm not super rich and I can't afford spending much on jewelry pieces, the ones you find in H&M or stores like that can feel and look too cheap. Orelia is a brand I've discovered in the Topshop Oxford street flagship store; they make dainty, romantic pieces which I find perfect for my style. The only thing that I bought at their Topshop stand was a pair of  Nerine earrings which I absolutely love. I don't wear dangling earrings often because I think they can be too flashy, but these are so delicate and simple that I'm not afraid to wear them!
Their prices are higher than those of lots of high street jewelry brands, but they're still quite affordable considering their quality.

I'm so glad I discovered this brand! I picked out a few of my favourites from the website:

Home remedies for acne

 photo DSC_0261___2_zpse8c5dc0f.png

If you’ve been following my blog for quite some time, you will know that I suffer from acne. I have suffered from it ever since I was 11 years old, but I’ve only started seeing a dermatologist since a few months ago, so I consider myself an expert on home cures for acne! If you suffer from acne like me, or if you just want to get rid of a few pimples that can appear during that time of the month, I suggest you keep on reading :)

First of all, what causes acne? Most of the time, and in my case, genes. My dad suffered from it when he was a teenager, so I was bound to get it too. It can also be caused from stress, sleep deprivation, wrong skincare routines or hormone imbalances. As Google says (very professional, I know) acne develops as a result of blockages in the follicles; sebaceous glands get bigger and the production of sebum increases. When a sebaceous gland gets clogged by sebum, a blackhead is formed. Very simply put, if bacteria get into that gland, it gets infected and inflammated. Now that we’ve defined what a spot is and what causes it, we can pass on how to cure it!

Of course there are many professional treatments to cure acne, but since I’m not a doctor I prefer not to dwell upon that subject. Thankfully, there also are plenty of quick remedies for acne you can try at home, almost for free.

Raise your hand if you’ve ever got a spot just the day before a party or a special occasion where you wanted your skin to look perfect! Well, one of the quickest ways to get rid of a pimple is applying toothpaste over it. I have used this trick many times, and although it can be a bit harsh for the skin, it significantly reduce the redness on the skin and it dries out the spot in a few hours.

If you’re looking for a milder but still efficient treatment, you can try a honey scrub. Honey has antibacterical properties, it’s moisturizing and it smells gorgeous as well! Put some regular honey from the grocery store (if it’s handmade, even better), add some sugar and mix them until they form a liquidy paste. Then apply it to your skin and gently scrub it moving your hands in circular motions. Leave this scrub/mask for half an hour or so, then rinse everything off. I guarantee your skin will feel and look so much better :)

Other ways to make the skin less inflamed and reduce the appearance of spots are putting a few drops or lemon juice, tea tree or lavender essential oil on a q-tip and then onto the pimple. I could go on and list thousands of natural ingredients you can use to cure your acne, such as aloe, clay, apple cider vinegar, garlic, strawberries, tomatoes… the possibilities are endless!

You got the gist – treating acne at home is all about using vegetables, fruits and such! How do you think that they used to cure acne during the Middle Age? ;)
