Holika Holika Holy Deer eyeshadow

On my quest to the perfect nude eyeshadow palette, I have found this little trio a few months ago and fell in love with it ever since. I'm talking about the Holika Holika Holy Deer eyeshadow in the shade no.1 Pink Brown. Doesn't it look lovely? There's even a little deer on it, and you know I love deers. This blog is called the little deer for a reason after all!

Kpoptown.com kindly offered me this product to share my thoughts about it with you. I think it's such a cool website - they sell the best Korean cosmetics brands (A'pieu, Etude House, Lioele, Missha, Skinfood and lots of others), but also circle lenses, jewelry, clothes, accessories and even k-pop CDs!

As you can see, the trio comes in a little tin, just like the Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek blushes (approx 5cm wide). More or less, they're the same size. The tin is sturdy, and the cap doesn't look like it's going to fall out if you throw this eyeshadow in your bag. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo of it, but this product comes with a little sponge applicator which can always be handy!

Unlike 99% of Asian brand eyeshadows, these eyeshadows are matte. Unfortunately, the colours show up very poorly. They're not pigmented at all; maybe they'd work better with a damp brush.
The shades are pinkish brown (nice for defining the crease area), a medium warm brown, a champaigny beige colour which is a bit chalky but it's a good browbone highlighter/inner corner shade.
These couldn't work for a night out smokey eye, but they'd be perfect for a daytime effortless neutral look. Exactly what I look in a eyeshadow! I only wish they were a bit more pigmented!
For the price, you get a fairly good product; perfect to carry around in your bag, handy, complete as it comes with a sponge applicator. I wouldn't say it's the best neutral eyeshadow trio on the market, but it's a nice one.

Missha Signature Glam Art Rouge SPK102

I fell in love with Misshka Signature Glam Art Rouge lipsticks ever since I first saw them. Of course, I was immediately attracted by the classy golden packaging that makes the product so unique! I had been wanting one of them for months before I had the chance to get it in a multi-swap.

Also, the mold of the lipstick is quite unique, but it can make the product application a little tricky.
As always with Asian make-up, images and swatches on online shops are not very reliable, so I basically had to randomly choose a shade. Thank God I made the right choice! I picked SPK102, a dark fuchsia. The product is quite pigmented and it gives a sheer finish that's perfect for the season. I'd compare it to one of the pigmented Revlon Lipbutters (Raspberry Pie).
This lipstick lasts about 2-3 hours before needing reapplication. I find it doesn't dry up much, in fact it's quite moisturizing!

The one thing I'm not very happy about is that it has a very fake strawberry scent that, I'm sure, would bother lots of people. It's strong in the tube and it lingers on your lips for a while, so that can be really annoying. If you like your lipsticks unscented, steer clear of Misshka Signatures! The other thing I'm a bit disappointed about is that the bullet is made out of plastic. I think it ruins the whole thing and it makes the product look much cheaper! Even if there are many things I'm not fond about it, don't think I don't like this lipstick! I really enjoy it, I just think that if I worked at Missha I'd make some things differently ;)

What do you think of this product? Have you ever tried anything from Missha?
You can get this lipstick for $15,99 on Missha's website.

Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover

Photobucket

This item was part of a swap with a South Korean girl I posted about a while ago. You probably all know by now how crazy I am about Asian make-up, right? So back when I was choosing the items I wanted to swap for, I realized a primer was missing from my foundation routine and I thought I could get a Majolica Majorca one. Why did I?? I knew that Asian "skin related make-up" almost never works on my skin, but I wanted this to work so badly, just because it looks prettier than any Porefessional or Prep+Prime. So I really wasn't surprised when I realized it wasn't doing anything to brighten my skin/reduce pores or redness or blemishes, just a bit sad. I have tried it a few times and each time I'd say "it's gonna work", but it didn't. Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover retails for about $25, so it's not that cheap. I believe it also broke me out a bit, but my skin is very troublesome at the moment anyway.

The product, as you can see from the photos, comes in a tube. Oh my, such a pretty tube. If you squeeze a bit on the back of your hand, it looks just like foundation (yellowy-beige colour). Once applied all over the face, it doesn't completely disappear: I feel like my skin looks a bit more pink. I then put my Chanel Vitalumière Aqua (mind you, this foundation does a great job of reducing the appearance of pores and brightening the skin on its own), and I couldn't see any difference. In some places where my foundation on its own makes my pores disappear, nothing has happened.

Anyway, I should have known: this primer is not marketed for Caucasian people. I'm a bit sad to have wasted the money.
Have you ever had any experience with Majolica Majorca Skin Lingerie Pore Cover, or with another primer from an Asian brand?
