Barbie Eye Green Circle Lenses - sponsored by Dbeautyshop

Today I'm going to review a pair of Barbie Eye Green lenses I received from Dbeautyshop! Dbeautyshop is an online store established in Malaysia. They sell the most famous circle lenses brands such as EOS, GEO and so on, but also Skin79 BB creams and My Beauty Diary facial masks.

I like them so much better than my first ones - the Eos Adult Blue I reviewed in this post. They look much more natural on me, maybe because their colour is closest to my natural eye colour LOL I think it's also because I wore some make-up with them. They're quite comfortable, I really have nothing to object on that :) As I said in my previous contact lenses review, I don't need glasses. These were without any prescription power and didn't interphere with my view at all.

As you can tell from the photos, their design is quite particular. When I saw them I thought "oh no, they'll look so fake on me" but then it was the exact opposite! The spiral design blended perfectly with my iris.
I think these are more than perfect for anyone who wants to have huge eyes -their diameter is a stunning 15.8mm!- more than just experimenting new colours, because these have pretty much a natural effect ^^
I am really pleased with these and with Dbeautyshop overall! I can't wait to repeat this good experience with them!

Today's random make-up shopping

Hi! I just wanted to show you a few things I bought today :)

Photobucket

First of all I got three Kiko eyeshadows in 122 Marrone Castoro Mat (the brownish one), 127 Bianco Satinato (the white one) and 157 Viola Mat (the purple one). I generally only wear neutrals and I really needed some new basic, non glittery colours, that's why I picked up a very light brown eyeshadow and the white one. While I'm very pleased with the brown, I'm not that happy with the white - it's just not as pigmented as I thought it was! That's the problem with Kiko eyeshadow, they have tons of different shades but not every one has a strong pigmentation. But they're very cheap  -only 3€- so I guess I just had to expect it! They're not really long lasting as well, but I generally wear eyeshadows only when I go out so just for a few hours ^^" I guess that they work better with a primer though!

Photobucket

I bought the purple one as well because I've been wanting to wear it with orange lipstick ever since I saw this photo .. I think it looks so nice! I hope I won't look like a clown with it... :P

Photobucket

I also bought this Bottega Verde Matita Occhi Intensa eyeliner in Perla Oro (gold). I've been using it in my waterline ever since I got it and it makes my eyes look a bit less boring ;) it really enlightens them and makes them look bigger. Plus, I've paid it only €2,99!

The last thing I got was this Diorshow New Look mascara! Actually, it's just a sample I got from this month's Elle issue. Anyway samples like this one are always useful, I'll probably just throw this in my bag for quick retouches :)

Tarte LipSurgence in Flashy

I received a Tarte LipSurgence liptint in Flashy in a swap with an American girl about a month and a half ago but I completely forgot to post about it here :P

Photobucket

"Earth engineered from a proprietary blend of plant bio-nutrients, our LipSurgence technology quickly absorbs into the skin delivering a surge of moisture on a cellular level, effectively and naturally increasing skin's water content for a 'plumped up' appearance. The result is naturally fuller, healthier lips without any irritation or stinging."

Also, Tarte LipSurgence liptints contain Jojoba seed oil, peppermint oil, vitamin C and E. Isn't that great?

Photobucket

When I swapped for this product, I didn't know what to expect; but when I received it, I was surprised by its quality. I should have known though, Tarte is famous for that!
The creamy, sheer texture has a plumping but natural effect on my lips. The shade is a beautiful glittered mauve one. Unfortunately, Tarte is not sold in Italy but I will do everything to get my hands on the other LipSurgence shades!

Glossybox February 2012

This post comes a bit late, I know! I received my February Glossybox  on March the 3rd and I've had the time to do some photos at it today. After January's fuschia packaging, they're back to their classic pale pink - which, by the way, I like better :)

Photobucket

The thing I was interested the most from this Glossybox was this Murad Skin Perfecting Primer, which claims to "create a smooth radiant canvas while minimizing the appearance of pores". Well, I didn't have the chance to tell if it works, because it's just too dark for my skintone and it makes my face looks orange. It's a pity because I had heard so many good things about this product and I'm really interested in trying anything that's supposed to make my skin look better, and now I can't use this because of its colour! Big disappointment. I suppose they have to put something that works for the majority of people in the Glossybox though, so I can't complain. I guess I'll just give it away to somebody. If you're interested in swapping, just tell me ;)

The three products in the photos below are the ones that disappointed me the most and they were the reason why I didn't like this Glossybox. They are very small samples of a shampoo, soap bar and body lotion from an Italian brand called Prima Spremitura. They have such a strong olive oil scent - well, I suppose there's some strange olive oil extract in them, so that's why they smell so much. At first I didn't like their scent at all, but then I kinda got used to it! Anyway, I was very disappointed by these products because they are the same size as the samples you usually find in hotels and that you never use. What's the use of a soap bar in a Glossybox?! I'll probably give the shampoo a try, but the body lotion and the soap bar are of no use to me. I'll add them to my endless collection of samples that I never have the chance to try.

The last one was probably the nicest item in the box. It's a full size Neve Cosmetics Pastello eyeliner in taupe. I don't really use eye pencils because I'm not fond of how they look on me, however there's tons of different ways I could use this. The shade is really particular, it's not a boring black or brown, it's half way between a dark brown and grey. I was pleased to receive this because I've heard good things about Neve Cosmetics and their natural products and I don't really have the chance to try them except if I buy them online!

The day after I received this Glossybox, I unsubscribed. Or at least I thought I had. The day after that, I received a mail from Glossybox telling me the payment for the March box had been successful! I mailed them and they told me I had to get a confirmation email when I unsubscribed. I hadn't gotten that email, so I unsubscribed again and finally got the confirmation email. So basically: they cheated. I'm not going to ask for a refund, but this bothered me to no end.
What are your opinions on Glossybox? Are you subscribed to any service of this kind?

EOS Adult Blue - sponsored by PinkyParadise

I posted about this on my main blog Delicate Youth and I thought I could just repost it here ;)
When I had the chance to review some contact lenses, I was happy to be sponsored by Pinkyparadise.com, one of the most popular circle lenses website. PinkyParadise offers more than 600 circle lenses to choose from, ranging from natural series to enlarging and cosplay ones. They also sell fake lashes, mascaras, facial masks, BB cream and more. As some of you probably know, circle lenses are supposed to enlarge your eye; they're very popular in Asian countries, but I've seen many European and American bloggers wearing them as well! I think that being able to change your eye colour whenever you want is great :)
I received the parcel from PinkyParadise on March 6th, that means 2 weeks after the order was processed. That's quite fast considering it came all the way from Malaysia! The lenses came with a cute animal shaped case, and with some Dariya hair straps as well! They're all over the internet and I just can't wait to try them.. I just can't stand when my hair gets on my face!

Photobucket

These are my very first pair of lenses. I can see perfectly and I've never worn glasses or lenses, so these are of course without any power prescription. I had quite a hard time putting them on (I am clumsy and -again- I've never worn lenses before) and I wasted so much of my dad's saline solution, but after the lenses were so comfortable I couldn't even feel them on. As you can see from the photos below, my eyes look *huge*. I have pretty big eyes of my own, but with these lenses on they look so big I don't even know if I like it or not! I looked at myself in the mirror and I thought "I look like a frog." LOL

Weight: 0 kg, 100 grams
Stock: Stock available
Manufacturer: E.O.S
Diameter : 14.0mm
Water Content : 38%
Base Curve : 8.6mm

The design is very pretty, they look quite natural compared to some of the lenses you can find on Pinkyparadise.com.
Overall, I'd give these a 9/10: they are super comfortable, they don't look too obvious while enlarging your eye and the colour is very nice; I'm just not that happy of how they look on me.. I should have picked a pair with a smaller diameter, but I didn't have a clue when I chose them! We all have to start somewhere, don't we!
However, I was I am very pleased with Pinkyparadise.com and I am very curious to try more of their products.

Also, if you use the code "delicateyouth" at check out, you get a free animal lens case plus mystery gifts!

And now a blurry overexposed photo of myself. LOL
